Scientific background

Heat increases the demands placed on thermoregulation and the cardiovascular system. Dry air changes water needs and may compound heat exposure. Ultraviolet risk depends on intensity, duration, and protection, while large daily temperature shifts alter thermal load, schedules, and protective needs.

Dust events can raise inhaled particle exposure and may carry biological or chemical material. Effects depend on particle size, concentration, duration, individual susceptibility, and existing disease, which is why health research must combine environmental and population evidence.

Heat, dust, and air-quality studies increasingly use high-resolution exposure assessment, vulnerability stratification, and actionable warning systems while avoiding individual causal claims from population associations.
